My Father's Parker

I recently remembered that my father had an old double barrel. I checked and found out it was a Parker. I have attached some not so good photos. I'll try to get better if people are interested. What can you tell me about this shotgun?

Phillip,143047 is in the book as a Vulcan Grade (VH) 12 gauge with a capped pistol grip stock and 30" barrels. Congratulations on a fine family Parker Bros. shotgun.

a nice piece of family history - enjoy it

That's in really nice shape. I hope you keep it in the family.

Your fathers Parker looks to be in good condition. Thank you for sharing it with us.

If you only just remembered your father's Parker, you've obviously been spending too much time doing something else. You will find the professors here, at Parker University, very forgiving, and excuses like raising a family, or a good old car, truck, or motorcycle are legitimate excuses. Now that you're here, you're going to find out why there are so many people still in school here. The Parker shotgun is the finest you could be fortunate enough to inherit and every student here is flat-out eaten up with them.
Your Dad's gun looks like a good one; loved and well cared for. I still have my Dad's first Parker, and always will. He's been gone for 28 years now, but I still feel like he's right there with me when I take that old 16 out.

Seeing as how the butt plate screws have already been turned you might as well remove the butt plate and see if there is any "butt plate treasure". You never know...

BTW, you take very good pictures..............Welcome, George
