A three inch 28??
Has anybody ever heard of a three inch 28? I have heard of a DHE 28 so marked on the barrel lug. The gun is skeet configured and has 26 inch bbls so the chamber length of three inches is a mystery.

That's neat Rich ,I have never seen a 3", 28 Gauge Shell !

I understand that Fiocchi listed them at one time
but -to me it would not be a who question but a WHY???? |
I have no idea of why anyone would want a 3 inch 28. But as this is a late Rem era DHE was anyone makeing a 3'' 28? If memory serves (here we go again:rolleyes:) I read somewhere that this guage was at one time mfg in 2.5, 2 9/16, 2 3/4, 3 inch and even 4 inch for a Paradox gun mfg by H&H. It was standardized at the current 2 3/4 inch length but I can't find anything to back up my alleged memory. Either way this PArker is marked as being chambered for the 3 inch 28.

Yes! It did not mean a larger powder or shot payload. It had to do with quantity and type of wads. As an example, I have a WRA Co. 20 gauge shell, 3", rolled crimp with a 2-1/2 dram load of Hercules EC, and 7/8 ounce of chilled 7 shot.

I too would like to see a picture of the 28 ga. DHE barrels with a marking indicating a 3" chamber.
I know that just about all DH barrel flats were stamped with a 3 but a factory stamp of "3 inch" or "3" " is something I would like to see. |

Here is the dhe 28ga 3" chamber that Rich is speaking of. All of the Late remington 28ga parkers I have owned have been 2 7/8 " chambers and marked that way on these late guns. I have never seen another 3" gun.
