Manufacturing Date Question

I just was given my gramps Parker. It has a date stamped on it Oct 25, 1910, but according to the serial number, 222298 is was made in 1927. The markings are as follows, HTA, OV, 32, O. It has a trojan barrel and no engraving. It looks like the blue collar model. Any info would be helpful.

Thanks,
KK

Sounds like a 20 ga. Trojan. OV is definitely a Trojan, barrel weight 3 lb., 2 oz. ? 0-frame ?

The dates stamped on Parkers are for various patents that apply to that gun. They have nothing to do with the manufacturing date. The 1910 date you see stamped on yours is, I believe, the patent for the new design of locking lug that came out that year. That date will be stamped on most any gun made after that date.

Kevin,

Though not fancy, the Trojan is a work horse. You are indeed lucky to have your grandfathers Parker. Here is a picture of my fathers Trojan 20 gauge.

Dean ,I think you hit the nail on the head ,My PH 20 has 28" barrels with an unstruck weight of 3/ 1 , I 'll bet this little 20 Ga. Trojan is a gem of a gun to handle !!
