Parker "DH" Sees Light Again:

I scrounged this old 1900 DH after patiently watching the price reductions for the last month or so and decided I couldn't hesitate any more. The seller said they had purchased a large collection and this one was a part of it. The first time I saw it listed it really didn't make much of an impression on me at $2200.00. The price kept incrementally decreasing and at $1500.00 and no bids I wondered if there was something wrong with it or the description and photos were just plain poor. I downloaded the photos and played with them to see if I could discern something beyond the auction photos. Everything looked pretty decent so I waited for the auction to wind down to 15 minutes and 20 seconds and placed my bid. Well there were no other takers so I own it. I'm normally not very impressed with the online grave yard of Parker Bros. offerings, most are messed up and very over priced in my opinion. Well after my preliminary examination I'm pleased with the old gun. Had I waited for the price to go down perhaps I could have saved a few dollars. I'll never know. The gun has 30" tubes and a dime won't fit in either one, goes in a little further in one tube, one is 0.6915 and the other measures is 0.677. They should be real tight in my opinion. The Damascus pattern is still visible and overall the gun shows use but no abuse. Notice the "rack" number just below the grip cap, that's different. Have any members here ever seen this one before? I believe it came from Pennsylvania. Enjoy the photos and share your feelings about this oldie but goodie. Thank you, Bruce B.

Great looking gun at a gonga price! Beautiful stock and still has the skeleton buttplate! Would be nice if the research letter gives a clue on the initials on the stock shield.Thoughtful bidding strategy that pays off. I'm sure it will become one of your favorites!Andy

Provenance!!

Look at that name plate and those initials. Who was that?
Get a PGCA letter and solve the mystery. Great gun.
Nice buy!!
