Titanic ??
I posted this already in introductions. Since I am new I am having a time learning the site. I apologize in advance if moving this here is wrong.
I have a GH made in 1890. The barrels are upgraded to titanic steel with engraving and a matching serial number. The first question is, does anyone know why the barrels have ML after the number? 617xxML. Thanks |
can you post a picture
Is the "ML" the same size and spacing as the serial number? or just two characters in the same area |
I will get it out and try to post a pic. It does appear to be ''part of the number to me"

Here is the pic of the ML on the serial. 61756 ML.
These Titanic barrels are 26 1/4''. Wondering if they are cut. From looking at the muzzle my guess is no. What do the experts say. I have a lot of trouble loading pictures on here. I will add some more when I can. I am wanting to find out what a fair asking price is on this gun so I can decide weather to hunt it or sell it. It is a beauty of an upgraded refinished gun. So I believe the collector value is moderate. If any one wants more pictures emailing is likely better. |
On the left side of the barrel lug should be a number is it the same as the one in the picture ?and is there a D on the barrel flat these barrel may hve been sleeved

On the barrel flat the number/letter was polished away if there was one. I am not sure what the left side of the lug is but will look over more carfully.
I am trying to post pictures one at a time but when I submit the pic is not showing up. Is there a delay? |

Titanic steel pic. the only other marks on the barrels is 33 and W K . Also there is a crazy scrolly G/C and other slash marks mingled together (unphotographable). I guess I better spring for a letter.

Hold up on the letter ! Let the knowledgeable persons chime in and save you some money.

Steve, After looking at your photos my opinion is that these are replacement barrels. The rib is not a Parker Brothers rib as the matting and Titanic fonts are wrong.
|
and have you ever seen a Parker serial number on the tube like that?
the ML looks to be from a different set of stamps - slightly larger |
