I bought thisParker at a pawn shop

I recently found this at a pawn shop. It is 83XXX. made in 1895. I cannot make out the grade. it looks like an L but I did not find that as a real grade letter. It does have a silver shield. it is a frame size 1. dont know if it is a 14 0r16 gauge. It is in shootable condition. The engraving is visable but smooth. missing a small piece of stock below the triggers. I am trying to find a value on it. I can post pics later. Thanks Dennis

Dennis ... To give you the information you seek, you'll need to give us the complete Serial Number and post some clear photographs of your gun so we can do some research... One way to determine the gauge of your gun is to try putting 12 and 16 gauge shells into the chambers ... If the 12 won't fit and the 16 fits OK, the gun is a 16 ... But if a 16 is really lose in the chamber it's a 14 gauge ... If you want to measure the bore diameters, here are the bore diameters in inches ... 12 gauge = .729 ... 16 gauge = .662 and 14 gauge = .693
