Help on value

Not sure what I have
I have what I thought was a 12 gauge and have it it for 20 years. Inherited from my grandfather who bout 6 of them that we're sequential in serial number. I am hoping someone could tell me what I have in terms of rarity and approximate value.

Sn: 399xxx which means I think manufactured in 1884?
Frame size is 3 which according to this site is for a 10 gauge, whereas I always thought it was a 12.
There is no grade listed above the sn on the water tray but from this site I determined it is a DHE. From the pictures I seen.
Barrel weight is 5 (4).
Type of steel listed on the barrel is twist

It has hammers, two triggers and a lever on top to break it open to eject spent shells. It does have ejectors. There is also a little shield below the lever which is why I think it is a DHE. I have no idea how to judge condition on a 200 year old gun but it seems decent.

I posted public pictures under Marc in the album section.

according to the book 39973 is grade 0 10 guage with plain twist 30 inch barrels - capped pistol grip. with no extras, so it should have extractors. A pretty basic gun for the time. The pictures are a little fuzzy, condition is a little hard to determine.

how are the barrels on the inside? how much pitting is in there?

i'd put a 1884 gun at about 128 years old :)

Help

So from the feedback I am getting no one seems to be willing to put a price on things. I realize now a camera would have been better than a I pad. I understand this is a working mans gun but should I let it go for 250.

No, as long as it still has 30 " barrels, and there not pitted badly . If you have visited this forum much we see alot of people wanting value on their guns with the intent to market them here and there is a special section for that and you must be a PGCA member to sell a gun on this forum . Most of us try to play by the rules that have been set up , so I invite you to join the PGCA .
