Good time to buy normally high priced guns......

I watched Christy's of Indiana auction house sell today a Parker GH 28 gauge with 28" barrels serial #192543 for a steal in my opinion with today's economy holding down the bids. On site for $13,000. I would think it would hit near $18,000 to $20,000 in better times.

I know of one that sold four years ago at about $22K.

$13K is a steal and I wish I had been aware of that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt you can buy a good VHE 28 for that money. Some have ,some don't most of us wish we had it.

This economy will bring more guns out of the closet and into the marketplace.

It would be very interesting to know the condition of the $13K 28 ga. GH

Several pictures still on Proxibid's "Christy's of Indiana" site Lot #177 show a pretty nice looking GH with everything intact, good wood, dog's head butt plate, uncut barrels and some color left on the receiver. I chickened out at $10,750 ($12,631 with 17.5% internet fee added) but the "on site" high bidder of $13,000 didn't have to pay any extra I believe. Christy's has a high rating for accurate listings and less than 1% complaint rating from bidders.

Skeleton buttplate on a GH?? Maybe that's the answer.

I would like to see that for sure.

Sorry for the confusion Dean,

I should have listed a dog's head buttplate. I look at a 1000 or more guns (including a DH 16 ga) each weekend on 5 to 12 auctions and sometimes my guns get crossed up when not looking at my notes.
But as I stated before the pictures are still posted at Christy's of Indiana in the archived auctions section.

Dean I have a GHE 16 that went back to Parker for all the options including a skelton butt.

I know Rich, but that is galaxies from the norm.
