Not sure what I have
I have what I thought was a 12 gauge and have it it for 20 years. Inherited from my grandfather who bout 6 of them that we're sequential in serial number. I am hoping someone could tell me what I have in terms of rarity and approximate value.
Sn: 39973 which means I think manufactured in 1884? Frame size is 3 which according to this site is for a 10 gauge, whereas I always thought it was a 12. There is no grade listed above the sn on the water tray but from this site I determined it is a DHE. From the pictures I seen. Barrel weight is 5 (4). Type of steel listed on the barrel is twist It has hammers, two triggers and a lever on top to break it open to eject spent shells. It does have ejectors. There is also a little shield below the lever which is why I think it is a DHE. I have no idea how to judge condition on a 200 tear old gun but it seems decent. |
Welcome to the Parker forum! Listed in the book as a grade 0 ,30in twist barrels, capped pistol grip,10gauge. Post some pictures,we like picture.:)

Is this what you were talking about? |
Marc, perhaps it is just the photos but the left hammer screw looks different and out of place. Does it match with the right hand screw?

Screw
Dennis you are correct the screws don't match.
