 Grade designation question;

		My new old Parker looks like the engraving pattern of the GH, and has a G stamped on it, however the it has a Silver shield on the Stock. From what I have read the silver shield was on a higher Grade Parker than the GH. It's SN# is 116810. It also had a second Barrel, Parker Vulcan steel, all serial #'s match. Could the Gun have been sent back to Parker, and the the sheild and Steel barrel added at a later date?

 The shield was standard on the G, the P, and the V grade guns. Grades D and higher had an oval in the stock. It is quit possible that your gun was sent back to Parker for a second barrel set. I would encourage you to order a research letter on your gun and it might confirm that. It left the factory as a G grade hammerless 12 ga with a pistol grip, 30" barrels, and no extras.

 Thank you for your answers to my questions. I will order the research letter once I have Joined the PGCA. It is facinating to learn about the origins of this gun. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your time.
