parker parts

i have an 1884 12 guage parker brothers double barrel shot gun and i am missing the right side top lever hammer.. can anyone help me find this part or where i might get it made?

Brian Dudley 11-10-2012 06:56 AM

Keep an eye out o. eBay and gunbroker. They pop up from time to time. Or maybe someone here has a spare. I am fresh out right now. Just a tip, sometimes the hammers are different in form and engraving style. So if you care about them matching, might be best to look for a matched set.

i am more than willing to buy a set of two if i can find them or have them made. been looking for almost two years and on ebay, no luck. any help would be great

Jack:
You may have some luck contacting Dick Chubb. He has TONS of hammers, original and repro. His email is bchubb@comcast.net

I would send you a pm, but it is not an option for you. I may have an extractor for you. What guage and frame size is your gun? I take it that it is a top action hammer gun?

extractor missing

hello Brian

thank you for such a quick response
i'm not sure how to answer your question though

from the markings and common sense the shotgun is a 12 guage
the barrel type is a Twist
the barrel part number is 18525
the butt part number is 33941
does this helps further?

best

serge

Well, I asked what type of action the gun is (lifter of top action) and also what frame size. The frame size will be stamped on the bottom of the barrel locking lug.

bonsoir Brian
being french and living in france, now,i'm doing a catch-up course on shotgun semantics
now i know what to call the part i'm missing...it's the forend...
i'll check tomorrow what frame size i own
my shotgun is top-lever-action and not lifter-action...
am i making progress?
the barrel is marked twist but the shotgun finishing is engravingf-less so a rather rudimentary piece...but hopelessly worthless without the forend
the butt is stamped 33941,so manufactured in 1883
the barrel is stamped 18525 with a 12 merk in a circle and 2 letters stamped next to it
an S on the left side and a T on the right side
the barrel says Parker Brothers Makers Twist on the top side
and tomorrow i should come up with the frame size itself
there...
bonsoir

serge

here's the final set of info...
Butt # 33941
barrel markings

stampingsa circled T with top right cormer a J...and bittom right 5 with a small 12 underlined
Barrel #18525

howdoes that fit?

merci beaucoup

hoping you do have the forend to fit my shotgun

serge
