http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s...ilcarr/284.jpg I thought I would share the before and after results. Quail breast smoked with home grown Jalapenos is hard to beat. Not all Quail were shot with the Parker, the A-10 also took a few. |

These were all Gamble quail we took a few Scales the week before, but they were small and we ended up walking away from 3 coveys that were only half grown.
Destry lets talk and set something up. I also ended up buying the 10 gauge. |
Phil, very nice before and after. Our quail season opens this week end I'm hoping my before and after ends up just half as good as yours. Thanks for sharing

Good Luck Frank. Pretty hot still out here. Stll hitting 90"s some days. Here is a picture of my hunting partner it shows the type of country we were hunting. It will be another 6 weeks before I feel comfortable taking the dogs out. Can hardly wait.

Phil,
Thanks for the best wishes. Actually your before and after looks much better to me after yesterday's hunt. My after looks exactly as my before. We walked for miles in the Mojave wilderness. Finally saw five birds with no shots fired. It's been hot here also. We will try again as the weather starts to cool off. Here is the terrain we hunted. Traditionally It's been good for some desert quail and chuckar but it was much more dry than usual. 1020121012a.jpg (273.0 KB) |
That looks life some tough hunting. It must be like walking on softballs. We are going to get out again this week and hunt some quail as well as calling some coyotes. I think I will try to use my new 10 gauge this time for shooting the coyotes we call out of the washes. normally they come within 15 yards if it is thick.
Just wish it would cool down a little for the both of us. Good Luck hunting, Phil |
