Have had this Parker for 40-50 yrs any thoughts????
Yes, sorry to say that it is not a Parker Bros. made in Connecticut which we follow on this web site. It is probably an inexpensive gun imported from Belgian.
These Belgian guns were regarded as Hardware Store utility guns in their day and are rarely in good or even shootable condition these days. Usually regarded as "wall hangers".
Thank you for the info, don't think I'll be shooting this shotgun for any reason, just wondering how old it is, my guess around 1890-1900 ?
Most likely no way to know for sure on the age. I would not think that there are many people out there documenting manufacturing dates of Belgian knockabout guns. But you never know. Your guestimate of 1890's is in the ballpark.
