ddp:
Generally no. Although the issue of why the one is ejector is not working is still a concern. Many times, it's simply dirt.

thanks for the reply Kensal,

i think the problem is a broken spring...i do not know enough about the ejector system to trust myself to take the forend apart to check.
i will take it to a smith when i can but was hoping to use it for dove season first.

thanks again,

Parker ejectors are a very delicate system. Timming and function are one of those areas that few people really understand. The extraction function will still work in the case of total failure of the ejectors. No you will not further damage the ejector system by continued firing, however it should work as designed. Make sure your"smith " knows what he is doing as parts are very scarce and expensive.

A few years back, I took a GHE down to Illion for Lawrence Del Grego to clean and check out. In a little over an hour, Larry fully dissassembled the gun, cleaned all parts, took a small dent out of one barrel (using the original Parker dent removal slugs) and replaced both ejector springs. He never stopped talking throughout the total process and only charged me $60 for the total job! Great guy and excellent workman.
