Back Boring/Honing

What is the difference between back boring and honing the barrels?

Rick Losey 08-03-2012 07:00 AM

back boring is a small increase in bore diameter designed to increase choke performance, and may involve an alteration/lengthening of the forcing cones

honing is (generally) a more aggressive removal of metal to reduce or remove rust and pits - this may continue into and reduce chokes
