Hello. Joined because I was trying to find information about my grandfather's Parker Vulcan. Turns out it was made in 1927 and seems to be in good condition. Last shot the gun about 1984. Pretty popular model but don't know much else about it. Still trying to figure out things like grade etc.

Go to our Home page ans start by going to the Grades link and the FAQ links.

I would highly recommend joining the PGCA for only $40 and begin receiving our quarterly journal (48 page glossy magazine) loaded with stories, tech articles and pictures.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check it out.

If the top rib reads "VULCAN STEEL" then that is the grade if the barrels are original. The grade is VH or VHE if the gun has ejectors.

Your V grade Parker would have been made during the height of Parker production. Just before the depression and the susiquent low of Parker production.

It does say Vulcan and I believe all parts are original. It does not have ejectors. Thanks for the input as I am just learning about the Parker. I do know it was made in 1927 and, again, I believe my grandfather was the original owner.

I am not looking to sell it. I don't even know if it is worth much. i just want to keep it, learn about it, shoot it, and leave it to my daughter some day in the distant future. The more I read the more excited I get. I had no idea a forum of this type existed. I thought I just had an old shotgun. I had no idea how special a Parker is.

A Parker is an "old shotgun" like a Dusenberg (sp?) is an old car.
