late hatch

i was bush hogging yesterday and came across a turkey nest there had been only 3 eggs in it.. i egg was not hatched yet one was broken open and something had eaten the insides of it clean and one of them had been broken open and the little turkey inside of it was dead but it was not eaten or seem to have been touched by whatever... this leads me to think it must have been a armadillo that had busted up this nest...i know thell eat eggs but guess thell eat the almost hatched little turkey... this turkey nest is awful late for our neck of the woods... wish the little nest had of survived but thats outa my hands .... charlie

We kill every armadillo we see around here. My parents are really aggressive with traps everywhere and the single barrel 410 never far away. If a coon or possum is caught in the crossfire, that is ok too

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but don't armadillos carry leprosy?

Mills Morrison 08-20-2012 01:33 PM

All the more reason to shoot them.

Christopher Piercey 08-20-2012 02:19 PM

Shooting them with a .22-250 would be interesting.

The squirrel stealing from my wife's garden is fixing to get some lead poisoning too.

Christopher Piercey 08-21-2012 05:20 PM

Do I spot a ghillie suit and a .22 short on the horizon?
