MY GH 12 GAUGE- NEED INFO
MY "NEW GUN" MADE IN 1882 IS A 12 GAUGE ,GH. IT HAS A SERPERTINE TOP LEVER ,IS THIS UNUSAL? IT IS NOT MENTIONED IN MY PARKER LETTER . THE STOCK BOOK WAS MISSING ON THIS GUN, BUT THE LETTER SHOWS ,DAMASCUS,32' F/F,CAPPED PISTOL GRIP.ANYONE LIKE TO GIVE ME ADVICE ON THIS? MY QUESTION IS, IS SERPENTINE TOP LEVER UNUSUAL??JOHN STINAUER.:bowdown:

I would offer the following advise:
1) Have a competent gunsmith examine the the gun to see if its safe to shoot. 2) Purchase some low pressure ammo. 3) Go shoot some flying critters with it. 4) Post photos of your gun and the dead critters here. |
It's a "Fishtail" top lever. Makes the gun capable of being carried with the action open, hammers back.
I do this, but cautiously. Like walking in on a point, or waiting for a dove to come in range. |
