HELP1
Dear Members,
I hope this is the right forum for this request. I just received my first Parker (20 gauge GH) and this is my first venture onto the website. The Parker was a bequest from an dear friend, came in an old sheep leg gun case and was, of course, disassembled. I have not been able to attach the forehand due to the protrusion of a small pin on the lower left of the floor of the "receiver" (I know, I have to learn the correct nomenclature). I have "cocked" the triggers but still no luck. Any step by step directions / assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm a retired states attorney and happy to provide any helpful information to the forum regarding legal aspects of gun ownership etc. Warm regards, Mike Bradbury |
A lot depends on whether your gun has automatic ejectors. Is the appliance that brings the shells out from the chambers a split piece, or is it all one piece that raises both shells at the same time? When we get that information, we will be ready with more information.

Hi Mike, welcome to the PGCA, This may take a minute or two to figure out, is the top lever.... lever used to open gun when assembled over to the right...it is often released to center for storage.

Mike,
I don't know if this will help or not but maybe.... http://parkerguns.org/pages/faq/ForendProblem.htm |
Thank you! When disassembled it is to the right. Once the barrels are attached it is centered. I have four labs!

You can't push the pin in with the forend then snap it on. I would like to see pictures of lom case and gun. Oh, hello glade you came. ch

If you still having a problem I would check out Robin's link aside from that I think we need more info.
I'm down to one, lost my 13 year old last week. |
Welcome Mike.
If you could, pictures of the forend, the side that attaches to the barrels, and of the receiver would be helpful. I also have labs. They are my constant companions. Mr. Fabian- sorry to hear of your loss of a dear friend. Good luck |
Welcome Mike: You will get all the info that you need right here & welcome to the Parker Forum. You migh also try to release the forearm latch with your finger when trying to attach. Push the forearm firmly back against the action with the latch down.
Best Regards, George |
If that pin (which pushes back the unhooking slide) is in fact not pushing in, it could be due to the gun needing cleaning. But I would find it hard to believe that it would be that dirty though.
That pin should be able to be pushed in by hand with the forend off. |
