A Ditty for the Day

In this world of synthetics and plastic
Parker shot guns seem anachronistic
They are traditional no doubt
And that's what the PGCA is about
Because a Parker's performance is simply fantastic.

There once was a girl from Nantucket...

When you're out for a Chukar or Hun
You can shoulder no better a gun
Than a Parker you see
Wth a drop less than 3
Locate Quail and you'll really have fun

Mr. Day

When choosing a vintage brand to dabble
Pick a Parker and keep above rabble
Write a limerick for forum
To project to be not dumb
Yet it's plain who would beat who at Scrabble

anachronistic, nice word! (I had to look it up)
One that is out of its proper or chronological order, especially a person or practice that belongs to an earlier time

I took my VH sixteen quail hunting
Instead of sitting home watching "Good Will Hunting"
I took my VH twelve on my field trial
Instead couching and turning the dial
I too my Repro twenty-eight to Pheasant Phest
Instead of working around the nest
I used my AH twenty to shoot Bobs Whites dead, dead, dead
Over my French Brittanys Molly, Belle, and Red
I took my Parker DH one frame twelve to Kansas
And shot the wiley Roosters in their pantses.
Instead of wasting away in the house
I used my Parker on Montana huns and Grouse
So I don't measure my Parkers by what I pay
But by the year measured in deeds and not days

With a Parker in hand the bird is in the pot,
it doesn't matter if it's fancy or not.
Light as a feather it waves like a wand,
a gun for generations over to bond.
When it's comes time to pass it on,
no better a hand than that of a son.
A Parker for the ages a gift I am glad
passed down to me from dear old Dad.

Bruce,
Anachronistic, did you get some word of the day toilet paper, or you really as smart as they have been saying? If you had to describe a Parker with one word, that would work! A gentlemen and a schollar as I have heard.

Somebody stop me!

There once was a girl from Nantucket
Who would carry her (RST low pressure, low recoil ,#9, Spreader shot) shells in a bucket
When offered a Fox
It was left in the box
She shot Parkers or just said, ”aww f**k it”

I'm sorry, I'm very, very sorry. I can't seem to help myself.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but speaking of passing down Parkers, I just had to say. I visited a good friend of many years today, He will probably pass on during the night, I remember 20 years ago when we were on the way to the mountains to hunt turkey, we stopped a a local gun shop and I talked him into buying a Parker hammer gun, he came to like this gun very much. Tommorow it will be his sons, and he will be looking down and watching him and smiling.
