Fleur de lis?

On a DHE? Never saw that before.

First I've ever seen too.

Looks like an A grade stock got checkered up and fitted to a D. Wonder what the s/n is. Maybe a "P...." s/n? or possibly a really late s/n?

Maybe after the shaping and finish was applied, it was determined that the figure didn't meet the standard for the higher grade, and was relegated to a D?

There are no A Grades, but there were B Grades. That may be the answer. Check out the forearm checkering. A 00 frame B Grade Repro stock is a rare bird. That may be a good buy for someone who likes that configuration. It's probably factory original.

Forend checkering looks like a DHE to me.

Bill Murphy 03-22-2012 12:00 PM

Not a fully finished B Grade Repro stock. It has no checkering on the cheeks. I don't know about the checkering pattern on the forend. From what little he shows us, it could be a B also.

Dean Romig 03-22-2012 08:46 PM

Were there B-Grade Repros made with fully checkered forends?

Bill Murphy 03-23-2012 08:03 AM

I don't think so, but I haven't checked my catalogs, my only reference. I compared what we can see of the Barnett gun to an original B forend and the checkering is the same. Did not compare it to a D forend.
