P grade 16 ga.
I looked at a fishtail 16 ga. hammerless with 30 inch barrels this past week at a small gun show but came up short by 50.00. It was a consignment and found it hard to deal with the middle man. He said the owner was firm on his price so i made a offer and went on my way.I called on monday and he sold it for 50.00 more than i offered. I guess he wasn't that firm. Thomas

Thomas,
Did the same thing at one gun show on two guns, a PH and a VH 12. PH very nice, VH solid. Good prices but a little overpriced, made offers, but absolutely firm they said. One owner, one consignment. Actually took measurements on the PH and told the owner too much info for my own good. Called both later that night, and both were sold for considerable less than the firm price. So the lessons for me are, find the owner and flash the C notes and a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. |

Steve: After giving the gun the once over and not knowing if it would check out in the ser. book and having a toe repair and barrels not ringing like a church bell i offered him 600.00 on his asking price of 800.00. The first offer usually comes up short. Thomas
