20 ga. hammer gun

I was at a gun show today looking at a gh parker and a young man walked up with a dh 12 and a 20 ga hammer gun. I was dumfounded, it was in fair shape,
barrels pitted and it had a skeleton butt plate. He picked it up at an auction. I couldn't get him to say what he
wanted for it, he kept saying things what the book said but don't know what book he was talking about. I really didn't know what to offer him. Any suggestions?JVB

James: A lot will depend on the overall condition, type of barrels & grade of the hammer
gun. Get the serial numbers and go to the serialization book. A 20 gauge Parker hammer
gun might be fairly rare. The DH 12 could be worth anywhere from $500 - $5,000 all
depending on the above. A PGCA letter will tell you more.

Best Regards, George

The 20 gauge hammer gun is more than rare. You should try to obtain information on it, first base is the serial number and grade.
