Wanting some info if possible here on this site about this underlifter and the rarity of this shotgun.I have some photo's and you can see that it would be great if it had a new piece of wood. It is a 12 ga. ser. I believe of 1695 with 30 inch barrels Thanks Thomas

A Jones underlever rather than a "lifter". Solve the problem with the poor wood to wood fit behind the grip and you will have a nice gun.
|
Bill: I should have known it was underlever but thanks Bill. Thomas

thomas this will be a keeper for sure when you get that stock fixed...i bet you jerry andrews could fix you up...this gun looks to be of high quality.. charlie

I have owned this gun since the 1980's and have never repaired it so my thinking is I probably should sell it and let someone finish it.I have been disposing of a bunch of my guns because I will never use or finish them at my age. Happy New Year Charlie. Thomas

send me a pm with the price or on this thread if it be proper...and a fine new year to you THOMAS....charlie

I have a J.A. SCOTCHER side lever 12 bore that I have had for over 30 years. The top rib is marked: "J.A. SCOTCHER MAKER BURY ST. EDMONDS". I'll try to take some pictures * post them here. the wood on mine is original and in fairly good shape.
Best Regards, George |
George: I would love to see them. How rare are these guns and what value is yours.I'm just trying to get a idea on what to ask for mine Thanks Thomas

There are a couple top levers listed on the Cotswood gunroom site
http://www.cotswoodgunroom.com/10400/info.php?p=3&pno=0 They seem to think well of them |
