Frame Size

Can the frame size be looked up from the serial number?

Looking at a hammergun stock that came off of #34026 and wondering if it is for a #1 or #2 frame gun.

Thanks for your help.

You can measure..... http://parkerguns.org/pages/faq/Framesize.htm or it should be marked on the barrel lug, follow the Technical Information link on the left side of the parkerguns.org web page. It shows you where to look.

Eric, you just have the stock, right? If so, I do not think that frame numbers are reflected in 'The Book'.

Roundsworth, that is what I thought. Figured I would double check to be sure. I do not have the stock, just an old gun that needs one. The stock is on eBay and I will try to get the seller to measure it for me. Thanks to you both.

even if it measures right, it may not fit well. seems like hammerguns have more variables than do the later hammerless guns.

The solution to your problem is at hand. The fellow selling the stock also has the gun. Ask him to look at the lug for the frame size. In my opinion, that is not a $100 stock, apparently having missing wood at the top at the action.

You are right Ed. With hammerguns in particular it is a roll of the dice.

Bill, I have been watching that guy's auctions and it is more complicated than that. The gun he is selling as Barrels and Receiver has actually shown up here before in the middle of this thread on page 3 and 4.
http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthr...1883+hammergunAccording to the seller it includes the barrels, receiver, and broken stock as shown in our forum thread. The foregrip for this gun he has listed in a seperate auction. The stock he has listed comes from a different gun according to the serial # he provided. So there is no gun to match up to the listed stock. On the other hand that trap gun he has listed in two auctions might be a decent project gun for someone, if they could win both auctions, and if eBay does not take it down.

I have no connection with this seller or his listings other than possibly being interested in the stock for myself.

Thanks again.

OOPS. I didn't notice the different serial numbers.
