chamber size

New to collecting guns, have decided to follow my grandfathers love of double barrels and Parkers. What is the best way to determine chamber size? How much does this determine the value of the gun?

Cut down a stiff plastic card, such as a credit card and insert that. Its Bill Murphy's idea and it works.

I don't think Parker chamber size makes any bit of difference in Parker values.

If you look through the forum posts historically, people have spent much time with chamber lengths and Sherman Bell also in DGJ articles. You might read them . As for me, with a modest collection of good Parkers of most years, most gauges, most grades and all barrel compositions, it makes no difference to me and I use regular store bought shotshells in addition to reloading.

If you want to know what to shoot, people have all kinds of ideas and this being a popular subject prone to starting bar fights, ask away and step back.
