Park Bros double barrel

4 Attachment(s)
I just purchaed a 12 ga.Parker Bros double barrel shotgun and trying to find information on this gun. The serial # is 37824, frame size is 1, and the barrel is twist. It has an inlay in the stock I believe to be federal design. I have reviewed pictures of other guns like this and have not seen another gun with the twist lever action break.
There are records on the web site. What do you get for $40?
Please see pictures.

Bruce,I suspect you are referring to membership when you state "What do you get for 40 bucks" For the cost of an annual membership you will receive a membership card, decal, membership pin,a lovely membership certificate suitable for framing, quarterly issues of Parker Pages(The main journal of the PGCA) which is very high quality. Also a discount on research letters and access to the members only forum on this site where guns are bought and sold.

I invite you to join us here at the PGCA. There is a great deal of knowledge and some fun to be had as well.....:)

Bruce,

The barrel finish on that new gun of yours seems to be very nice. I suspect that they have been restored to that finish.

Jent,
do you have any info on the inlay and if this was a common gun made by PB

bruce kreutzer 12-23-2011 10:19 AM

Mr. Dudly,
The gun sit in a gun case in a closet in NY for many years before the person I bought it from. The inside bore is shiny without any pits so it appears it was shot minimal times.

Parker Bros. hammerguns of your grade had the stock shield inletted into the stock in that position.

Is a 12 gauge built on a Number 1 frame somewhat uncommon?

Ed Blake 12-23-2011 12:49 PM

That's a very nice hammer gun that appears to be unmolested. It has a "fishtail" top lever too. #1frame 12s are not uncommon. I have one and it's a great shooter. Nicely balanced gun.
