Parker GH 20 factory work verification

I bought the Amoskeag Auction Parker # 192876. Listed as a GH 20 gauge no extras with 30" barrels which are now 28". The gun was list with a B F 3 code on the barrels. Do we have any way of knowing exactly what was done to this gun? The stock work is obviously Parker as is the barrel & trigger guard blue. According to the description is was done in 1937 when Remington owned Parker. Any help on this one? Thanks much, Jerry

Jerry, what you have is a nice Parker with a weak explanation of how the barrels got cut. Are you sure they are cut?

Only by the listing in the Serialization book which says 30" but the choke seems right. I was told the code listed dealt with the barrels " repaired" blued and trigger guard blued. It's one hell of a nice gun either way! thanks Bill, Jerry

The code says nothing about "barrels" or "trigger guard". The code denotes the date and the fact that a repair was made. Any experienced Parker collector can tell you whether the barrels were cut or whether an error was made in the stock book entry or the transcription of the entry to the Serialization Book. A PGCA letter will tell you the true barrel length mentioned in the stock book. Forty bucks, no fuss, no muss. Send the gun to me. I'll tell you whether the barrels were cut.

I'll send for a letter to see what it shows. After seeing the amount of doubles I've seen, I'm saying this thing is not cut. I'd be shocked if it was, unless done at the factory when returned for some unknown reason. Jerry
