Charlie Herzog has baby girl
3 Attachment(s)
Charlie Herzog, in his 60's, now has a new baby girl. She cuddles, pees, sleeps in his arms, and chews on his fingers and toes.
Some months ago, Bill Bolyard came down from Michigan to hunt with Charlie, me and Doc Van Blaricum out by Dodge City. Bill brought his two nice Llewellin setters and they did fine. I have an aging pointer who has arthritis and is lame by the end of the day. I was the first to go over to the dark side, the setter side, when I made arrangements with a breeder I met up at Pheasant Fest. Then Charlie couldn't stand it any longer. This is his first pointing dog. He has beagles and a Lab, and this is his first. Her name is Shea: |

Shea is the same age as my setter pup, 9 weeks. This one is my new one, name Triple, or Trip. Turns out to be very close to the same breeding.

Maybe the next to fall will be Doc Van. We now know what happens when you invite one of those Michiganders out here.

More pictures of Charlie's new puppy. He put a pink collar on his little girl.
Bill Bolyard's setter will have pups this summer if things go as intended. He sent me a picture of the start of the process, the very start. Probably not suitable for tender eyes and surprisingly like the political process. |
Charlie Congratulations! Life will never be the same!

Beautiful looking pup!

As they say " Now the rest of the story" Last January Bruce invited me to Kansas for a pheasant and quail hunt. Now mind you I had never met Bruce in person, My girl friend (Noel) thought I was nuts driving halfway across the country to go hunting with perfect strangers. When I arrived Bruce informed me he was a pointer man! He had on Pointer jeans, a pointer jean jacket and a bonified pointer named Shortstop. He then informed he he had never had good luck with them longhaired dogs. At that point I went on the defense, I explained to Bruce that I had only hunted Grouse with them and was unsure of there performance on pheasants and quail. That night as I lay in bed, Noel's question of my judgement came into play. The next morning Bruce let Shortstop out of his Kennel, and it became obvious that he also moonlighted as a attack dog. We loaded up and went hunting. At the end of the 4 day hunt Bruce said " Them dogs did better then I expected. Maybe those where not his exact words, but close. We later met up at Pheasant fest in Wisconsin where Bruce purchased his newest family member. Who says you can't teach old Dogs anything!
