Parker reference books

Gentlemen;
I have two(2) Parker books. These are: Ed Muderlak's Parker guns and Parker Guns Identification and Serialization by bluebooks. Although both publications are somewhat useful, they do not provide the descriptions and beautiful photos that are seen in the similar books that so well address Lefevers, Ithacs and L.C. Smiths. The question then: Is there a publication that has good photos and descriptions of the various Parker models and grades? Recommendations/ Info please. Many thanks from a new member and Merry Christmas.

Volume 1 of --- The Parker Story--- is probably what you are looking for. Double gun journal has a web site with these for sale. Volume 2 has more photos also. Dave

Volume 1 and 2 of "The Parker Story" are available through the Double Gun Journal in slightly blemished sets for $200.00. That is a great deal...You will be saving about $100.00

In my opinion, the "blemished" TPS is not really blemished, but a way for Mr. Cote to give a gift to his readers without actually changing the retail price to a lower figure. Go for it. Ed Muderlak wrote two books titled Parker Guns. The latest is titled Parker Guns, Shooting Flying and the American Experience. It is a wonderful book that covers our hobby better than any book I have read. The Larry Baer books show guns that we haven't seen in years. Your best bet, after The Parker Story, is a full set of Double Gun Journal. The Parker articles and pictures in DGJ are worth what you will pay for the whole set of magazines.

I agree with Bill Murphy. I had called DGJ and asked what the blemishes were and was told there might be some defects in the cover or a small smudge on a few pages. So I ordered a set mostly because I wanted to read them and have them for reference. It was the BEST $195.- I ever spent! The damage? Part of a single letter on one word in the gold foil stamping was missing on one cover. Pull your copies in and out off the book shelf 20 times and the same thing could happen or more.

My dealings with Mr. and Mrs. Cote have been much more than satisfactory. If you need something, get on the phone and ask for it. When no more Premier Issues were available and I was trying to get a set together, Joanna Cote told me that "Dan must have a few around here somewhere.". Sure enough, one was in the mail in a day or two.

I have had nothing but the best experiences with both Daniel and Joanna.
