Chris: I'm guessing 62 inch spread on rack and Alaska moose. How far off am I. Thomas
|
Well, I never measured him but he has 20 point's and dressed out at 520lbs hide off....and Alaska was a bit off,I'm in Newfoundland way,way on the other side.
The rifle is a 1886 repro Browning,we seen thirteen moose that morning but he was the only bull that gave me a shot...all two second's of it !!!. We got a couple a few year's ago in the 60 inch range and seen a couple that may have been well over that ,huge moose for Newfoundland where 40 plus are trophy's ...but to be honest if had only 4 point's I would have taken him, I'm more interested in his meat than his head gear (it was a nice bonus though! ) Thank's fellas |
Congratulations Chris,
Still a classis gun, and it adds to the experience. Not much of a big game hunter myself, I've taken a few deer and a couple Highland stags, but a moose is one I would like to get a chance at. |
