Flats Marks

Can anyone please tell me the meaning of the letters WK enclosed in an oval and the number 45 stamped on the barrel flats of my gun mean? Many thanks for the help.

WK stands for Walter King, barrel maker and the 45 probably stands for the unstruck barrel weight of 4lb5oz. Pics of gun and more info would be good[S/N, grade, barrel length, etc.]

Double Lab-

Thank you for your help. The gun is a DHE 16 bore #143291 with 26" Titanic barrels, straight grip and skeleton steel butt plate. The gun is built on a #1 frame. Will post photos as soon as I can. Again, many thanks...

Wow, sounds like a great gun. Congrats. DHE, straight grip what's not to like. Although 4lb5oz sounds a little too heavy for a 16ga. 1 frame 26".

Yup, the 4-5 must be something other than the weight mark.
