Now that I've got Rich and Dave's attention please enjoy my two favorite bird guns. Top gun is 1922 VH 28 w/26" OO frame choked .005/.015, 5lb 8oz, bottom gun is newest addition a 1926 28 VHE w/30" OO frame, choked .010/.022. 6lb. 5oz. IMHO it does'nt get any better than this for a bird hunter like myself. Hope the pictures do them justice.

Oh my! Daryl, I can't wait to see that 30" gun. Thanks for the pictures buddy....

Dean Romig 11-14-2011 09:08 PM

My dream is for a 28 ga. with a straight stock but I'll settle for my VHE 00-frame with 26" barrels and a pistol grip. The chokes are .003" and .013" (I guess our grouse flush just a bit closer than yours do Daryl)

Now if I can just borrow it back from Dave....

Eventually.......

Daryl ,That is a very nice pair !!!!! I really enjoy using a 28 Ga. ,before my Parker 28 ,I carried a Remington 1148 chambered in 28 Ga. Full Choked ,I was never much of an auto loader guy ,but picked it up cheap and used it one season ,seemed I couldn't miss with that gun on Pheasants but was way too slow with the safe for Grouse ,I suppose I was just too accustom to the top tang safety the doubles have . Should have never sold it ,the prices have gone through the roof for those little guns since then ! Good shooting to you and your pair of 28's ! Russ

Daryl
Very nice. My go to quail guns are a VH 28ga 28" and a VHE 28ga 30" Hard to find a 30" 28ga. Mine is tight choked though.
Enjoy
David

Russ,
I too could kick myself for selling my 1148 28ga. but I'm a lefty and you are right about the safety. It was on the wrong side. Guess I'll tough it out with the Parker's until I hang up my brush pants.
Dave,
I looked for a long time to find a 30" 28ga. [I really want a 32"] but this one is just fine. It too is choked .010[mod] and .022[full] and I just love tight chokes.
Dean,
I think Dave is having your stock cut and made into a straight grip. It was supposed to be a surprise but I think the stock man at Wal-Mart needs to measure you for a precise fit. Until then Dave will give it a good home.:rotf:
Thanks to all for the kind comments and oh yeah Dave- you better bring plenty of 28's to the Southern.

Dave's a pretty nice guy to absorb that expense for a buddy. I couldn't think of a better stocker for the job than The Stock Doctor.

Dave Suponski 11-15-2011 06:59 PM

Daryl,Not to worry...thanks to a good friend I now reload 28's....

Dean, No problem with the expense..I already lopped off that pistol grip and a few more coats of bondo and she will be ready to go......
