Parker Case

for those who wonder how an original Parker case looks.

Bruce-
I listed one just like this for sale. I will take photos and add it to the ad. Mine is for a straight stocked lifter. Thanks for sharing! |
Interesting, no handle or straps!!

They had a handle originally, but it was just round leather nailed to the case and most didn't survive. I had one ages ago that still had handles but they were rough.

Yup, a handle mounted on both the top and bottom of the case. If you look closely at the first picture, you can see two of the holes one handle was mounted in.

interesting, I have an 1860 British case with the same hook latches that has a handle on the top. I had wondered if it was a later add on - but could find no other sign of handles. May have been the style of the day. |
The handle on the top and the bottom of the case is characteristic of the Parker case. Most of them survive in some percentage of utility. One of mine shows no sign of a handle except two screws in each of the four ends of the broken off handles. Kevin McCormack will make this case whole, for a price.

Not blowing his horn but he did a great job on a two gun case for me, and he will do another as soon as I find the right case!

He has an interesting project in the hopper for me, too, Gary. It is a Model 21 cutaway gun to be fitted into a leather salesman's briefcase. It should be pretty impressive when it's done. Kevin has done many leg of mutton and trunk cases for me in the past including a couple from scratch. I have seen your two hammer gun case and it is very nice.

Este caso- que pasa??
