Finally
I finally got my act together and shot my 16ga. damascus gun for the dove opener here in Co. I used RST 2.5" # 8. It worked. Who knew???

Nice job Paul! Here in that bastion of liberalism and earthy-crunchy types, Massachusetts, those are known as "songbirds" and unfortunately, will never be considered gamebirds.
By the way, that is one fine looking Parker. Is it a B grade? It sure looks like a B. |
Paul,
Very nice picture. Tell us more about the gun. Derrick |
I will describe the gun for you guys. "Not an ugly gun".
|
I've owned the gun for 11 years, and this is the first time I've ever shot it. I did letter the gun last year. It states, the gun was ordered by E K Tryon Co. in Phil. Pa. on Jan 11, 1912 and shipped on March 21, 1913. It was sent to the Augest Leady Co. in Indianapolis, IN. Order book #85 lists it as an AHE hammerless , 16ga. with 28" damascus barrels choked RH cyl , LH mod. The order specified engrave pistol grip shield M W Kelly. The price was $225.00

My my what an outstanding gun  and yes here in Connecticut they are considered song birds also. I wonder what song #8 shot sings?
|
It sings the old Prince lyrics "...this is what it sounds like when doves cry."
(You guys do know who Prince is...right ?) BTW: That is an amazing gun ! How many of those RST 2 1/2" beauties did it take to down those birds ? |
John,
That's not something you ask a man about doves, if he wants to tell you he'll tell you. *wink* Destry |
I'm sure he did better than my score on doves this year (only one hunt): Two empty shells, no birds in the game bag !
They are humbling...to say the least. |
Quote:
He is now "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince" . . . but he still won't use his 'real name' like Destry has reluctantly agreed to do. :duck: |
