1900 16 VH & Doves today
1 Attachment(s)
Choked r/.010 & l/.028, number 1 frame and 28" barrels at 6 lbs. 13 ounces it will handle every situation. Was shooting 2.5 inch Cheddite handloads with 1 ounce 8.5s in the right barrel and 1 ounce 8s in the left and Longshot powder, low pressure. Took about an hour between thunderstorms. Less than a box and a half for fifteen bird limit and two lost ones. A beautiful September day. Rather shoot these little targets than anything on earth.
One has to wonder how many other people enjoyed the same pleasure with it in its 111 years. |
Merry Christmas J.A.,
That's what the first of September is to me. I shot the 20 gauge Trojan my father found under the Christmas Tree so many years. The little gun made it's 63rd consecutive appearance at a shoot Thursday. It is a wonder gun that never fails to kill dove. Saturday I never took it out of it's slip. I sat with my 10 year old grandson giving encouragement as he shot. This morning I shot in the rain with a 16 gauge PH and was one of the first out of the field by 8 AM. The PH was cobbled together with Damascus barrels that remained from my horrid attorney friends grandfathers estate. He was with me when I fired the first shot at game in many many years and saw the dove fold. He was as happy as I was. Harry |
"horrid attorney" - Isn't that tautological?
