new owner question
I recently traded for a 12 gauge Parker VH, ser # 113988, Dec 9, 1902 model.
I am trying to take it apart for a through cleaning and cannot get the barrels off of the action. I am taking off the forearm, opening the action with the lever and breaking the gun open as if reloading it. I have tried everything I can think of to get the barrels to lift up out of the blocks and cannot get it out????? Works perfectly, open and closes like a safe, lever join to center every time, it seems to be in perfect condition, I just can't get it apart... ANY HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Mike Mills |
Try to pull the barrels backward while lifting up. Sounds like your doing everything right. Maybe squirt a little lube on the hook joint when you have it open. Should just come apart. Dave

Try firing both barrels ( unloaded of course). Then try to take the barrels off. This often allows you to remove the barrels. When off clean and lube the cocking hook.

Thanks very much it worked and I now have a squeaky clean Parker. This gun seems to be choked full & full and man alive are they tight. Wonderful gun...
