28 ga DHE at Jaquas

I have no interest in the gun but thought I would pass it along. Too bad someone messed with the butt.

Boy, that didn't last long! I couldn't find it.

Did it have "Titanium Steel" barrels?

Saturday I bought a 2007 Devine's Auction catalog that had a Parker DHE 28 gauge with "Titanium Steel" barrels. Devine's is where my 24" Damascus 28 ga. DHE came from - the only known 24" 28 ga. Damascus Parker of any grade. I'm glad they didn't know that when they put it on the block :bigbye:

It's still there ( and at $27,500 it probably will be there for a while). The barrels are 30".

I wish I could solve the mystery of Jaqua's website. I couldn't find it either. It didn't come up under Parker Brothers, used guns, old guns, new guns, it didn't show up anywhere.

I found it by selecting Parker Bros from their list of Manufacturers, then scrollong down to "Field Guns"

A 30" 28ga D grade? Bet it won't last long. When was the last time one of these came up? A 30" C 20ga sold in the mid 30's a few years ago.

The skeleton plate looks like a Galazan's, that's what theirs fit anyway because they are small. The owner had the right idea, it just wasn't very well executed. A good stocker could find a matching piece of wood and hand stripe the grain across the sections so that a person would not know it was a separate section unless he was told.

$$$

I agree, that is a lot of money for a low condition, messed with DHE 28.
30" barrels are unusual but....

Hmmm. Still doesn't work. You would think that after all the $$$ I've spent down there that Nick and Neil would be sending me PM's.

That does not appear to be a Galazan skeleton bp (made for them by McFarlane, I think). Galazan's is much too big, thick and heavy for a 00 frame Parker. I looks like an 0 frame Parker part as Parker often used a taller butt than was normal for the frame size when fitting long barrels. I just ran into this with two different 30" 20g 0 frames (a VHE and a DHE) both of which have 1 frame butts. It is a pity the extension was put on (it probably was cut for a pad at one time). The Parker buttplate could have been (and still could be) cut and shut and made to fit the remaining portion of the original butt. A more worthy and elegant solution for an elegant and expensive gun.
