New Beaver tail
Hi All.:)
Would it be possibile to put a beaver tail forend on a vhe 1/2 size frame gun. The gun has the standard forend at the moment and what would be the Appox. cost and would it put value on it or take it off. I just thought it would be nice to have two forends the beaver tail for clay shooting ect'. All the best Dave.:bigbye: Ps. please could i see a pict of the right one for a vhe Remington 1937. |
Suggest you give DelGrego's a call to discuss. Sure, it can be done but.......

David, I suspect you have a reinforced (one piece) forend lug, which is what a Parker should have to accomodate a beavertail forend... but it isn't entirely necessary. It depends mostly on how you support the front end of your gun in your forehand. If you keep a death grip on the beavertail forend you can expect to pull a non-reinforced forend lug off but if all you do is suppurt the barrels with it you'll likely be alright.
On the other hand, we know of Parkers with splinter forends where the non-reinforced lugs have pulled loose.... |
A friend had this done to a Parker several years ago and never had anything but trouble with it. Forend lug broke out twice and had to be repaired, caused other issues as well. The work was done by Oscar Gaddy so you know it was done as well as it could have been. Not saying this always happens, but it's something to think about.
