BLACK HAWKIN HEART RECOIL PAD, CIRCA?

When were these made/used/popular (if ever)? Seldom see black ones on Parkers.

Thanks.

I picked one up on ebay a couple years ago. It is the only one I have seen.

I have been around a long time, don't know about these, have never seen a Hawkins ad for one. They are very nice, don't look like anyone's repro, but I just don't know. I have one or two and would use them, no problem, but could never represent them as original.

Bill,

Thanks. I saw one on a 1925 VH that is claimed to be original but its condition is too good, so I really wondered when they appeared.

I am going on the assumption that they were not original equipment on any gun. The reason for this is that every one I have seen is either brand new, uninstalled, or brand new on a gun. I have never seen a well used one on a gun or in a box of junk on a gun show table. They certainly are a good looking pad, though.
