New Trojan owner, load Q's
Hello! I have just bought a Parker Trojan 12G, 177,000 range. It would appear to have been made in 1918. Bores are dime bright, some case hardening left. I love it! I intend to chace some pats and woodcock with it.
I have reviewed some treads about shooting 2 3/4 loads without issues. I have some B&P rounds that shoot quite fast, would these cauae issues? They are 1 1/8 @ 1330, seems maybe a little much? I will most likely end up using some spreaders as my barrel would appear to be Mod/Full, maybe some Polywad. Anyway, what a great site! I have learned a lot! http://i450.photobucket.com/albums/q...1/P1030157.jpg http://i450.photobucket.com/albums/q...1/P1030158.jpg |
Those shells are fine for your Trojan, even some 1 1/4 oz loads Ok, enjoy

I agree with that statement. The 12 ga. Trojan is built on the #2 Frame and is as stout as any Parker 12 ga. and will shrug off such loads.
A 7/8 or 1 oz. load would probably be more appropriate for the little birds that you mention and would likely be easier on your shoulder too. But decide for yourself after trying different loads in your Trojan. Most important.... Have Fun!! |
