Great pictures Harold, tell us about the guns!

The Parker is my old VHE 20. Born with 28" barrels, someone cut them to 26 1/2". I need to have the head of the stock repaired as it is cracked and lose. The gun remains tight on face, and ejects strongly.
The hammer gun is a Scottish G. Forrest and Sons from Kelso Scotland. The original barrels were 30" Damascus cyl/cyl and are quite handsome (no doubt refinished). With those, it weighs 5 lb 8 oz. It also has a set of 30" fluid steel cylinder and full barrels and weighs 5lb 9 oz with them. Both sets were apparently proofed at some point for 2 3/4" shells and are stamped as such. As you see,it has a butt extension. It truly is a wand to carry and shoot, these 2 are my two favorite grouse guns, but I also brought along a Ugartechea 28 ga and a little Beretta BL 3 20 ga 26" |
