"New" Parker information?
 

Was there a discussion recently on this forum about the new Remington Parker's from the 2006 timeframe....I seem to recall someone posted a brochure.

Any help pointing me towards that chat would be appreciated.

Remington tried to do it in the late 80s and it did not work out. And then CSMC put some together for Remington. Is that the timeframe you are talking about?

Thank you. I was interested in the Remington guns. But I'm also curious what guns if any were completed in the 80's?

I have a copy of the factory catalog advertising the whole deal. I think it was 1988.

It is my understanding that no guns were actually ever produced or sold. The couple of guns photographed for advertising were custom shop restored guns. Orders and deposits were taken, but had to be refunded in the end. Their reasoning was not being able to develop a reliable proprietary single trigger for the gun.

Actually according to the article there were several completed. At least 3. Not to be confused with the later 28ga attempt in the early 2000's.

There are 2 on display in the Peterson section in the NRA Museum in Virginia. At least one of which was donated by Art Wheaton.

There were several guns built on the order of 10 or so. CSMC was contracted by Remington to build the guns. Remington themselves never attempted to build them as they did not have the expertise to do so. One of the guns was donated to the RGS which they in turn raffled off. Someone in PA won that gun. The project was dropped after the initial small run because the market for a new 50K Remington Parker was just not there. They are great guns, very well made. My buddy Steve owns one and shoots it often. He has brought it to several of the side x side shoots and several folks have seen it. I might be able to convince him to bring it to Mikes next week if folks really want to see one.
