before/after damascus pictures?

Can some of y'all post any pictures of what your barrels.look like after restoration and before. Particularly maybe brown damascus. Im thinking of having my barrels redone wehn I get the gun in person. The barrel finsih looks dull I think mr turnbull could give it back its character. Also I thought damascus was a type of metal not a finish so how do they bring it back out?

Damascus is a process of forging multiple steels/iron together. the finish depends on the metals involved and the chemical process used. the different metals will take the finish differently. I'd show ya but mine isn't done yet.

Milton, have you checked the Damascus Barrel and Steel discussion board? Brad Bachelder has posted many pictures of finished Damascus he has done as well as other members too have posted before / after pictures.

Contact Brad who is a PGCA member here to discuss about your project. FYI Turnbull does not do Damascus refinish in house.

But whoever he sends them to does a remarkable job.

I wish I could restore the whole.gun but.I figure a restoration is around 3k which I don't have.and probably wouldn't spend.on this particular one since its not in bad snap just worn finish. But I did get a promotion today so I might have it restored or buy a parker lol

These are 1877 Parker 'Plain Twist' barrels restored by Brad Bachelder. Not Damascus, as requested, but they do illustrate the startling difference. Cheers!

I guess he is the go to guy for barrel restoration. I probably going to get me a browning leather case.for it also. About what does a barrel restoration run for him?
