That’s lovely and next on my list. Well done!

Can you show a pic of the butt plate in question?

Totally beautiful.

To find a utilitarian gun that old in that condition is just so rare!

I like that that gun a lot. I would love to find a 16 or 20 gauge Trojan or VH. Hope you got it for a good price.

That is nice! What is the LOP? I think standard was 14" on those. I might leave it as is, but a replacement(original) butt plate is possible.

The only Trojan I have is in 20ga. and it is wonderful!

Congratulations!

Quick Edit: And the early the rib extension!

i have a 16 ga vh on a 0 frame i hunt sharp tailed grouse and pheasants with it
the condition cosmetically is well used but the mechanics are 100%

The LOP to the back of the butt plate from the front trigger is 14"
would that be safe to say it's original ?
the butt plate does not have a dogs head on it ribs just runs across it

Trojans had a simple serrated buttplate. The lop sounds right. The butt should have a slight curve to it.

I had just popped the buttplate off of my 1919 12 gauge restored Trojan, as well as checking under the trigger guard tang in an effort to see if there was any thing that might shed some light on who performed the resto. Nothing to lead me to a conclusion.

Same butt plate that’s on my 1930, though it now wears a replacement as the original had cracked and split in two.

When I sourced the replacement, I considered trying to find a dogs head variety and MacGyvering it to fit.
