Reproduction s/n database

Just curious if there is a way to date reproductions.

Thanks

Parker Reproductions were made between 1984 and 1988. The manufacturing plant in Japan closed at the end of 1988 but new guns in stock remained available many years after.

I appreciate your taking the time and responding to my query. I was in the process of documenting dimensions, and logging them into a journal for beneficiaries, when I tried to find a database to provide dates of manufacture for the reproductions. Really just another excuse to pull them all out and admire them, lol. Trying to ease the burden as well as educate those who will be left with my things. Easy enough to document for most of my shotguns. While aware of the span they were made in, I thought that there might be a way to narrow them down to specific batches and dates of manufacture.

Compiling makes and model and where possible, the years manufactured. As well as stock dimensions, barrels, chokes and chamber lengths. Also the dates acquired, where they were obtained and the prices paid. Hoping that providing the details will instill a bit of appreciation and understanding of their value to me.

Carry on

John, if you have read the “Sticky” at the top of the forum that your post is in, you will have the bulk of any information that is available at this time. Hopefully in the future more will be gleaned.

You could narrow down the approximate build year of your gun(s) by reading the Stuart Williams interview with Jack Skeuse in the All Albumns section on this website. Starting here and continuing on for three more “next picture” pages:

Also read the Nick Sisley five next picture pages article he wrote here:

They built about 12,000 guns in 4 years and most were all made to cataloged dimensions and configurations.

…of the several original Remington era Parkers that Jack Skeuse sent from his own collection to be disassembled, precisely measured and copied ecactly.
