Ammo Prices to Increase By Summer

The Kinetic Group and Winchester both recently said due to nitrocellulose and copper demands worldwide, the cost of ammo will be increasing by Summer. How much? They didn’t say. Copper will affect rifle and handgun ammo more than shotshells, but nitrocellulose will affect powder prices. The war in Europe is still gobbling up nitrocellulose. Artillery and tank shells use a LOT of powder. As for copper, there is a huge demand worldwide for copper wire and copper parts. So, 9mm is cheap now, buy more. As always, when you see powder, buy it. There are only two manufacturing facilities in the USA that make powder. They are almost maxed out. Are you a grasshopper or an ant?

I've been dollar cost averaging stuff over time. Seems this is about as good as the stock market as far as a bet anymore. Ridiculous. Also, my two cents is to BUY BEFORE THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS (and that was my Nostradamus moment).

Went to Walmart yesterday. Winchester AA’s have jumped from $12 to $13.25 a box. Remington STS’s made a similar percentage increase. I should have loaded up last week. A day late and a $1.25 short. When you run through 1300 shells at a shoot, it starts getting expensive.

SHOP, SHOP, SHOP!!! Both our local MD and VA public shooting facilities (e.g. walk-in, non-private clubs) are still selling 12 ga. target loads by Winchester, Federal, Challenger, Fiocchi, etc. for $92-96 per flat depending on load wt. (1 oz. vs. 1 1\8 oz.). Loads in 7/8 oz. are a little scarcer but are in stock on a regular basis at the same prices, depending on location. Same prices for 20 ga. target loads; 28 and .410s are proportionally (much) higher, c. $130-150 flat. Alerts that prices would rise dramatically after the 1st of the year never happened. Buy all you can when you can and shoot them up so you can buy more!

A basic rule of life, the overall cost of living goes up each year. Post pandemic it has gone up much faster than before. It's not just the cost it's the shortages as well. Buy what you can when you can, take advantage of sales and flat rate shipping deals. Share the info on that when you find it. Clay pigeon shooting isn't called the sport of kings for no reason.

And I thought horse racing was the sport of kings? Silly me.

Is that why so many registered shooters are a Royal Pain in the Arse? Asking for a friend.

Horses are in a league of their own.

Let's see here....I've won over $12,000 betting the big races the past 5 years. I've lost $xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx buying Parkers and ammo. Which makes me happier? You guess
