The first Jambalya of 2026 using THE last bag of pheasant breasts from 2024 . Also sliced up smoked venison hot dog/sausages we get a German/Austrian butcher shop to make for us in PA . Wish I had the breasts out of 2 or 3 dogs to add to the pot but it’s okay .

Our supper tonight will be a venison mincemeat pie we baked today. It will be cool enough to eat by about 6:00.

And here’s the little guy that contributed to our din-din.
Nov. 14, 2021… 130 lbs.

Love mincemeat pie,

we need you to bring a few pies to Rock Mtn in July Dean:). {The Feast}

Some of the first mincemeat pie I remember were prepared by my aunt using squirrel that were harvested by grandpa.

Mincemeat pie brings back sad memories. My father loved them, he was dying of cancer, I was but 8 yrs old, that Christmas, and mom baked him a mincemeat pie. He could no longer eat, but just laid in his bed smelling it and smiling.

I wish I could have wafted the aromatic scent of my pie to him. It was heavenly..
