A restock question

I want to restock a grade 3 16ga hammer gun. It has bee restocked already and it's horrible:shock:
My question lies in the type pf wood that would be appropriate for this grade.
Would it be Black Walnut or something a bit nicer? This will be kept as close to what Parker Brothers would have used when it was original.

Circassian on any grade 3 gun.
