Looking for help.
 

I recently inherited a parker 10 gauge it's stamped VH, but ive been told it has ejectors. Ive searched all over the internet, but have found very few references for thses 10 gauges. Can anyone tell me why there's so little info, and if these are rare or just not as collectibles as the others?

Pics of vital areas such as water table bottom of the rear barrel lug and barrel flats would go a long way to helping you out

A VH grade 10g is not unheard of, but it would be VERY rare. I have only personally seen one in the past.

Tell us about the markings on the barrel lug, the flats of the barrels, and the water table (flat of the action when disassembled). If you can figure out how to post pictures, send us some pictures.

The screw in the bottom picture indicates that it has extractors not ejectors.

I’ve seen two, one of which was in David Trevallion’s shop about 5 years ago.

The Quality VH/VHE wasn't offered in 10-gauge until after the Quality PH/PHE was dropped from the Parker Bros. line near the end of the 1920s. Here is the VH/VHE page from the January 1, 1930, Parker Bros. catalog showing the extra charge for 10-gauge --

I suspect that most of the folks who were buying a Parker 10-gauge during The Great Depression would just as soon buy a higher grade, so 10-gauge VH-/VHE-Grades are quite rare.

Just to complete the VH 10-gauge picture there was a 1917 run of ten, 173953 to 173962, VH 10-gauge guns with Damascus barrels, three 30-inch and seven 32-inch.
